| PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE: The Best Thing to Keep Your Summer Vacation From Being Ruined
Written by Cheryl Deroin, NMD and Thomas A. Kruzel, ND |
So you are all set for that wonderful summer vacation you have been planning for ever and ever and you are
looking forward to having a great time. So what happens if you become ill because you have been exposed to many
other people while traveling, or have been partaking of a litle too much local cuisine? Here are some travelers'
tips that we use ourselves. |
- Acidophilus: helps to retain normal bowel flora as exposure to different climates and foods will introduce less than friendly bacteria
- Roberts' formula: acts to coat the GI tract and protect against lectins, viruses, bacteria, and parasites
- Grapefruit seed extract: acts as a natural antibiotic
- Arnica: for those bruises and sore muscles earned from trying to fit too many activities into your day
- Arsenicum album: useful for food poisoning
- Ipecac: for nausea and vomiting
- Vitamin C & E: excellent antioxidants to keep away colds and flu's
- Mint tea: to settle the stomach
- Ginger: To help with nausea from air or sea travel, or to just settle your stomach
- Nux vomica: for hangovers from sampling just a little too much local brew
- Water: drink lots of bottled water to maintain hydration
- Sun Screen: there is nothing worse than a sunburn to turn your sun holiday into an indoor bummer
